are colonial prokaryotic cyanophycean which are mainly found in Aquatic and Also found in moist terrestrial. The Cyanophyta doesn't have Pigmant but they are distributed in cytoplasm. They lacks a membrane & clear morphological organism associated to green plants . But Anabaena & others may be filamentous. The Characteristics color of the group result in present of addition to chlorophyll & carotenoids of the pigmant blue known as Phycocyanin. They are absent in soil of Ph below 5.2 and there frequent appearance is seem to be neutral .eg Anabaena,Calothrix,Microcoleus,Nodularis,Nostoc,Oscillatoria,Plectonema,Scytonema,Tolypothrix etc.
Significance:
Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic, prokaryotic organism which helps in fixing nitrogen nonsymbiotically. They mainly multiply in water taking nitrogen from atmosphere to form aminoacids and proteins.Cyanobacteria are the bio mass which improves the physical property of soils and makes the soil alkaline.
Algalization:
This is the process of making blue green algae into bio fertilizer. In this process high nitrogen fertilizer component are produced which are mainly used in high quality of rice yield.
Anabaena azolla:
This bacteria are mainly found in the cavities of leaf of fast growing and floating ferns. This also helps in fixing free atmospheric nitrogen into nitrogenous compound , the cavities of leaf.Such leaves can be highly biofertilizer
